Jerry Sullivan

Jerry Sullivan is an honored journalist and archived chronicler of Southern California. He is the recipient of awards from groups ranging from the California Newspaper Publishers Association to the Society of Professional Journalists. A significant body of his work is now part of the California Collection of the Huntington Library, Art Museum and Botanical Gardens, a world-renown research institution.

Sullivan is the founder of SullivanSaysSoCal.com, a leading source of news analysis and commentary for the Los Angeles and Orange County areas. He started SullivanSays in October 2018 after serving as editor of the Los Angeles Business Journal and the Orange County Business Journal. Sullivan previously founded the Los Angeles Garment & Citizen, which served neighborhoods throughout Downtown Los Angeles and surrounding districts, serving as editor and publisher from 2001 to 2010. The Garment & Citizen’s archives were accessioned by the Huntington Library in 2019.

Sullivan also has edited California Apparel News, Pacific Textile News and World Trade Magazine. His experience as a reporter includes working the crime, sports and business beats for weekly and daily newspapers in Southern California and national publications.
